Nigerian occasionwear

Traditional & Nigerian Wear

Contemporary Nigerian dressing shaped by fabric, proportion, culture and the formality of the occasion.

The service

Traditional wear can feel current without losing its occasion language.

Traditional Nigerian fashion often begins with a strong fabric or cultural brief. The design work is then about deciding how much structure, volume, embellishment and modernity the garment should carry for the specific event.

Exucia King can assess custom womenswear and menswear projects using lace, Ankara and other suitable textiles, including aso-ebi looks, senator wear, kaftans and agbada. Group orders require additional planning for measurements, consistency and production timing.

What this service can include

Built around the brief.

Final scope depends on design, timing and production capacity.

Aso-ebi looks

Custom occasionwear developed from coordinated event fabric for individual or group clients.

Ankara fashion

Contemporary silhouettes built around print scale, pattern placement and the intended event.

Lace outfits

Structured or fluid looks developed with attention to lining, transparency and embellishment.

Senator wear

Refined menswear for social, professional and ceremonial settings.

Kaftans

Relaxed or formal kaftan directions for women and men, depending on the brief.

Agbada

Layered formal menswear planned around volume, fabric weight and coordinated inner garments.

How it works

From brief to finish.

01

Review the fabric

We assess colour, pattern, weight, transparency and available quantity.

02

Match the event

The silhouette is adjusted for the formality, culture and setting of the occasion.

03

Measure & construct

Measurements and construction decisions are made around the selected style.

04

Coordinate the finish

Embroidery, trims, accessories and group consistency are reviewed where relevant.

Planning

Fabric choice affects both design and timing

Heavily embellished lace, custom embroidery, large group orders and formal agbada generally require more planning than simpler Ankara or kaftan pieces. If the event fabric is fixed, bring or send a clear image early so the studio can advise on suitable design options.

Questions

Before you book.

Do you sew aso-ebi for weddings and celebrations?

Yes. Individual and suitable group aso-ebi orders can be assessed based on fabric, quantity, design and timeline.

Do you make both women’s and men’s traditional wear?

Yes. The service range includes women’s occasion looks and menswear such as senator wear, kaftan and agbada.

Can I bring my own lace or Ankara fabric?

Yes. The studio will assess quantity, quality and suitability for the intended design.

Can one group have different styles from the same fabric?

Potentially. The design plan should still protect consistency, fabric quantity and the production schedule.
